Health & Safety in the Training Arena

These guidelines are for you and your dog’s safety, some dogs may find training classes to be initially a little stressful, others find it all too much and can become very excited. The trainers will help you and your dog to overcome any potential problems but it will keep everyone safe if you follow the guidelines below.

• Please wear suitable flat shoes when working with your dog in the training arena and remember you will need poo bags and dog treats.

• Please avoid throwing balls or other soft dog toys to your dog in the training arena unless asked to do so by your trainer.

• Please do not let your dog off the lead at any time unless asked to do so by your trainer.

• Please do not let your dog engage in over-excited play with the other dogs in the arena unless under guidance from the trainer.

• We welcome children accompanied by their parents or guardian, but please remember that it is your responsibility to ensure they do not run around the arena during training periods, nor should they attempt to stroke or play with another dog. Children should be under your supervision at all times.

• Please do not leave your dog unattended, if you have to leave the arena please ask the trainer to look after your dog until your return.

Note: dog training classes are fun but hard work at times, trainers have their own dogs and will most likely have faced similar problems and concerns during the training process and understand that is not always easy to take in what the trainer is saying whilst handling an excited or nervous dog. If you feel you need to go over an exercise again or wish to have a short one to one session then please ask the trainer.
